VOTE YES FOR CANFIELD SCHOOLS

What's On The Ballot - Vote YES on or before November 5th, 2024

Canfield Village Middle School is 100+ years old - this aging facility needs a solution.  The district is pursuing a revised plan funded by a $64,190,000 bond issue, which will be on the November 5, 2024, ballot.

The plan aims to deliver a state-of-the-art middle school and essential renovations to the high school and the district’s two elementary schools.

Why Now?

Canfield Village Middle School was built in 1922, making it 102 years old. Originally built as Canfield High School, it has served our community for over a century.

The current age of this facility impacts:

  • Student safety and comfort

  • Operational budgets on recurring repairs to assets existing beyond their useful lifecycle

  • The ability to introduce a modern learning environment

  • Millions of dollars in repairs and ongoing maintenance

You Spoke,
We Listened

This is the third bond levy effort. The two previous attempts included full replacement of the Middle School, Elementary Schools (2), and in one plan, the High School.

In engaging the community, you spoke, and the number one issue has been:

The Project Cost

We Listened: CLSD listened to the community’s concern about the cost of the former facilities plans.

To address this concern, this past summer, thanks to the district’s fiscally responsible management, approximately $3 million from the operating fund was allocated to improve our school facilities.

This offsets the need for the community to fund a bond issue for district-wide facility improvements.
